真ん中にEric Gilliom、両サイドにHAPAがいます。
Barry Flanagan(バリー・フラナガン)が歌う“Ku‘u lei, Ku‘uipo”。

歌詞については、以前のエントリでもご紹介しましたが、離れてしまう恋人に向けた切ないバラードです。

素敵な歌詞なので改めてご紹介。

Barryの歌声も素敵ですが、Nathan Aweauが歌う”Ku‘u lei, Ku‘uipo”も聴いてみたいですね。

“Ku’u lei, Ku’uipo”のKu‘uipo（クウイポ）は、ハワイアンジュエリーなどでもよく見かけるハワイ語ですが、これは愛しい人という意味で、恋人や大切な人に贈る言葉だそうです。

HAPAのファーストアルバム“ハパ”にも収録されていた名曲です。

この間、Sheraton「Resort of Hawaii」というCDを聴いた時にLAULA(ラウラ)という湘南生まれのユニットが歌っており、イントロのストリングスなどが印象的で、改めて素敵な曲だと感じました。

歌詞もシンプルな英語なので、何となく意味は分かります。
